The Louvre museum in Paris devoted a theme show titled "Paestum, archéologie d'une cité ", entirely dedicated to the symbolic city of Magna Graecia in a huge room (No. 44 on the first floor of the gallery Sully) that overlooks the Seine, where, in special display cases, houses an impressive collection vases and artefacts, accessible to visitors and tourists from around the world at the exhibition staged by the prestigious French museum until May 30, 2011, organized by the Department no 18 of the Antiquities Greek, Etruscan and Roman antiquities in the Louvre, conducted by Laurent Haumesser. The birth, evolution and decline of Poseidon are told through decorated vases, miniature bronze, terra-cotta ornaments, crystal, antique jewelry in gold and silver, dating from the fourth and fifth centuries BC and collected in the fifth section of the 'Galerie Campana'. In 2000, Haumesser was a young university student when he took part in excavations in the area surrounding the shrine south of Paestum, a mission planned by the French-Italian co-ordinated by the Superintendence for Archaeological Heritage of Salerno, the Oriental in Naples, and the universities Bleus La Sorbonne and Nanterre.
